this week

this week will be interesting. ian is in training for his new job and i have a ton of submitting to do with various projects. i get my macbook back tomorrow (hopefully in the a.m.), so i can see if all my photos are there, back them all up, and take pics of the LO's and projects i want to submit. if they're all gone, then i'll have to start from sccratch, and a few of my mini books will have to get pics in them that might be a little older than what i had planned for them. not too exciting a day tomorrow in terms of creating, but it could prove to be a very rewarding day if i am chosen for any of the DT's i'll be applying for (pink paislee, prima, crop addict -- for sure), and a few publications (SS, S Etc, and others). I am so excited to see my work finally get to the point where i am submitting it. oh, and hopefully i can get back to my etsy store a bit this week, put more stock in it and increase the traffic flow to it so i can finally get some sales and get it off the ground . . . hmmm, can anybody see an apron or two finally going up for sale!? i've had a few sewn and ready to sell for awhile, but never listed them! well, better get off to bed now so that i can start fresh in the morning! oh, and i can't wait to have my mac back and start posting pics on this blog! as donna downey puts it, "there are too many words for me!" -- i need some pics!

My outlet

I have a family blog. But, it seems to be more about me and my daily happenings with the kids, my art, or me just sitting around in my pj's telling everyone about it! So, it's really about time I created this blog solely about me so that I can have a little space on the web to talk about my day and not feel like it's false advertising! (you show up at the fam blog and can't find any stories about anyone else! lol!)

Anyway, today was a pretty good day in the studio. Ian had the kids while I worked on my projects, which is great especially since Hudson now 9 months old doesn't even let me get 2 steps away from him (literally!) without throwing a fit these days. I did manage to set up a little space for Cameron and Azelin to do create some art too and, of course, the entire studio is a disaster now. Azelin creates much like me . . . quietly, deliberately, and after she's done, it looks like a tornado ravaged the place! It'll take a little while to put everything back together, but it was worth it. I did 2 layouts today -- one of which was my first ever Christmas layout (I refuse to scrap holidays for the most part b/c I HATE anything cheesy or cliche, but it turned out just my style! SURPRISE to ME!). The other LO was about me and Azelin. Just random pics from the first 3-4 years of her life that were good-looking, but I wouldn't have known what topic to scrap them under, so I just lumped them together and made a pretty yummy layout w/them!

I REALLY want to post a pic of my studio to start off with, but, alas, my beloved Mac is sitting in a Fed Ex terminal in Richmond tonight, making its way home from being serviced. We'll see if they got anywhere with it without killing all of the data that was stored on it. If all my pics are there though, you know what I'll be doing on Monday when I get it back! Backing that baby up!

Also on the adjenda for the coming week: post my online LO gallery, submit to publication and DT calls and get serious about my dream of working in the scrapbooking world!
