a little bit of madness . . .

could be a good thing. because, when it's all gone, i know i'll miss it terribly. right now i'm sitting here blogging with my 2 year old beside me pointing at the tv every 2 seconds (really) saying, "look, mommy, it's clifford!", a screaming 10 month old who doesn't want to nap in his crib eventhough he passed out in my arms 5 minutes ago and would have stayed asleep if i didn't lay him down in his bed, and music from a typepad blog that i can't seem to turn off on my hubby's computer (ugh, i NEED my Mac back!!). generally, i am pretty noise averse, meaning i can't take a lot of craziness around me -- it kind of makes my head spin, like i can't even hear my own thoughts. i don't know if i was always like this, or if i became like this in my old age (33!). but, one things for sure, when i'm in my studio, i love blasting great music. right now, my ipod seems to be on repeat with sara bareillis. i don't know what it is about her latest album, but it just sounds so great and the lyrics rip right down to some meaty, heart-felt emotions that we can all identify with . . . it rocks. anyway, i need to start taking some pics of my projects/layouts to post and enter, so i better do that now so i'll be ready to upload all the photos when my baby (aka, my Macbook!) arrives . . . can you tell I'm counting down the minutes!

My outlet

I have a family blog. But, it seems to be more about me and my daily happenings with the kids, my art, or me just sitting around in my pj's telling everyone about it! So, it's really about time I created this blog solely about me so that I can have a little space on the web to talk about my day and not feel like it's false advertising! (you show up at the fam blog and can't find any stories about anyone else! lol!)

Anyway, today was a pretty good day in the studio. Ian had the kids while I worked on my projects, which is great especially since Hudson now 9 months old doesn't even let me get 2 steps away from him (literally!) without throwing a fit these days. I did manage to set up a little space for Cameron and Azelin to do create some art too and, of course, the entire studio is a disaster now. Azelin creates much like me . . . quietly, deliberately, and after she's done, it looks like a tornado ravaged the place! It'll take a little while to put everything back together, but it was worth it. I did 2 layouts today -- one of which was my first ever Christmas layout (I refuse to scrap holidays for the most part b/c I HATE anything cheesy or cliche, but it turned out just my style! SURPRISE to ME!). The other LO was about me and Azelin. Just random pics from the first 3-4 years of her life that were good-looking, but I wouldn't have known what topic to scrap them under, so I just lumped them together and made a pretty yummy layout w/them!

I REALLY want to post a pic of my studio to start off with, but, alas, my beloved Mac is sitting in a Fed Ex terminal in Richmond tonight, making its way home from being serviced. We'll see if they got anywhere with it without killing all of the data that was stored on it. If all my pics are there though, you know what I'll be doing on Monday when I get it back! Backing that baby up!

Also on the adjenda for the coming week: post my online LO gallery, submit to publication and DT calls and get serious about my dream of working in the scrapbooking world!
